tyre – emergency running systems “EP – Marathon”
The emergency running system makes it possible to continue driving a vehicle in the event of a loss of tyre pressure without damaging the rims.
It consists of a multi-segment ring either manufactured in EP-NYRIM elastomer modified castpolyamid or in synthetic rubber “EUROTHANE”. The rings are designed to fit all single and multi-part rims in sizes from 15″ to 27″ and also different types of tyres and wheel loads.
In particular the systems stand out due to the following features:
The runflat segments are manunfactured on our own casting moulds and the designs are based on the relevant wheel load, rim size and tyre size.
Other sizes are available above and beyond the standard systems.
The tyre emergency running systems remain functional even when exposed to gunfire. The findings from internal and external gunfire tests find their application in the modification of the systems.
In case of smaller systems (e.g. 15″ bis 18″) two segment designs with M12 connectors are usually used. in case of lager systems (e.g. 19″ bis 27″) three segment designs with M16 connectors are usually used.
The assembly of the systems is carried out using simple machines based on our own assembly instructions and requires less than 30 minutes per system.
On request, we can supply complete wheels in different sizes with steel or aluminium rims and different types of tyres.
“EP – Marathon” tyre emergency running systems are particularly economic solutions for all scenarios where a high level of system reliability and easy assembly is required.
We also supply beadlock rings suitable for multi-piece flat bed rims. Similar as for EP-Runflats manufactured by choice in synthetic rubber “EUROTHANE” within Shore hardness range of A70° up to Shore D65° for all sizes of one-piece or segmental systems.
